„Frau Minister“ is a theatre performance, a solo by and with Jule Torhorst. The actress takes up the question of power starting from her great-great-aunt Dr. Marie Torhorst, who became the first female minister of Germany (GDR) in 1947 yet remains nearly unmentioned in official historiography. In dialogue with archetypal female figures, the piece asks about emancipation in East and West and whether women can break free from the patriarchal style, reaching into the charged present. It is staged by the Bundesarchiv – Stasi-Unterlagen-Archiv Berlin-Lichtenberg, co-organised by the Bezirksamt Lichtenberg von Berlin.
