About

Victor Orozco Ramirez's animated film, a German-Mexican production, screens in the German competition of the 42nd International Short Film Festival Berlin under the theme »Scams & Pilze«. The programme asks what mushrooms and scams have in common: both thrive everywhere, spread out, and appear where no one expects them. Mushroom websites sprout from the digital ground, a scam call turns into an unexpectedly intimate conversation, and AI fantasies drive things to the edge of madness. Memories, guilt and faraway places form their own networks in which humans and machines tunnel through real and virtual worlds.
