About
This is an exhibition in the reading room of the Ibero-Amerikanisches Institut. The institute stages it together with the Embassy of Peru in Germany, and it explores the musical culture of Lima in the first half of the 20th century, showing objects such as songbooks, sheet music, culture and radio magazines, theatre programmes, pianola rolls and shellac records, with audio examples of historical recordings. Many of the exhibited objects come from the archive of Gérard Borras, which has been at the institute since 2019. The exhibition is in Spanish, and a catalogue is being published in Spanish and German.
