About
A Spanish-language conversation about Buenos Aires as a metropolis with a strong local and cosmopolitan identity, rather than the clichéd “Paris of South America”. Diego Armus (Swarthmore College), coauthor of “The Buenos Aires Reader. History, Culture, and Politics”, talks with Laura Cucchi and Lucio Piccoli (Freie Universität Berlin) about the city’s social, cultural and political history from the mid-19th century to the present. The dialogue focuses on diverse and little-discussed temporalities rather than a single history. The event is held in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Argentina in Germany.
