Sechswochenamt: drama of mourning in the pandemic.

"Sechswochenamt" is a drama about young Lore, who is thrown off balance by her mother's death while the Corona pandemic plunges a small Rhenish town into isolation and loneliness. Lore archives her mother's life for posterity and struggles to find a way of saying goodbye together, confronting the different forms of mourning within her family. Over six weeks she learns to allow her grief, living in an absurd symbiosis with the pandemic situation, until she manages to organise a farewell in her mother's bedroom. The film asks how one mourns properly when the end of life must be planned.
