About
Josephine Davies' Jazz Orchestra is a 17-piece big band led by award-winning saxophonist, conductor and composer Josephine Davies, playing two sets at the Vortex Jazz Club. Following the critical acclaim of her debut jazz orchestra release, The Celtic Wheel of the Year Suite, this concert is the official pre-recording performance for the ensemble's second album. Davies has spent 15 years mastering large-ensemble writing, balancing rich harmonies, flowing melodies and creative textures. The night offers an up-close preview of her newest, unreleased compositions before the band heads into the studio.
