About

A launch event and panel discussion for the book "Four Essays on Embroidery" by May Morris, published by Gauze Bonnet Press. The book gathers four of Morris's essays on embroidery as a craft, an art form and a political practice, examining its history, stitches and colour theory through her feminist and socialist outlook, with an introduction by art historian A.M. Dodds. The panel, chaired by Megan McInerney with panelists A.M. Dodds, Isabella Rosner and Kate Bugos, discusses May Morris's life and legacy, the history of embroidery, and women in the Arts and Crafts movement. Admission is free with an RSVP.
