About
A live swing guitar and soulful blues evening under the title 'Laurence Corns Duo - Swing Guitar and Soulful Blues'. Laurence Corns is a singer-guitarist whose swing jazz is influenced by Fats Waller, Billie Holiday, Nat King Cole and Bessie Smith. He studied ethnomusicology at London's School of Oriental and African Studies and learnt jazz playing with the cult swing band 'The Lost and Wandering Blues and Jazz Band'. Having performed from the streets of Paris to rural villages in northern Zimbabwe, his blend of blues, swing and African music is unique to the London jazz scene.
