About
A weekly live music night called Axel Tosca's Cuban Jam at a New York bar, with two shows in one evening. It is led by Axel Tosca, a Cuban pianist nominated three times for a Grammy, who blends jazz, classical, hip-hop, and Afro-Cuban rhythms and has played with artists such as Roy Hargrove, The Roots, and George Clinton. He is joined by the singer Xiomara Laugart, his mother, who has performed Cuban Nueva trova, jazz standards, and Broadway numbers. Together they mix Cuban sounds from the 1950s to today with his take on modern jazz, swing, and bebop.
