About
Halumii Ktapihna: Lenape Legacies and Futures is an exhibition at the Museum of the City of New York about the enduring presence and living cultures of the Lenape/Lunáapeew, the original people of the land now known as New York City and its surrounding region. It was developed in partnership with the Éenda-Lŭnaapeewáhkiing (Land of the Lenape) Collective and Lenape/Lunáapeew community advisors. The show brings together works by more than 30 artists alongside objects, archival materials, videos, and interactive listening stations, moving through three sections—The Lunáapeew Today, Homelands, and Creating the Future. It explores themes of land stewardship, language revitalization, and community resilience while confronting the legacies of dispossession, forced migration, and erasure.
