About

This is a gallery exhibition of paintings and works on paper by Yvonne Jacquette (1934–2023), titled "From the Air". It is Karma's first solo show of the artist, gathering works made between 1971 and 2016 and tracing how she developed the view from above as both subject and method. Over more than five decades she rendered clouds, cities and cultivated fields from the air as interlocking patterns of line and color, working from charcoal and pastel studies into Pointillist-like paintings. The show also includes the original maquette for the second volume of the literary journal Aerial, which she published with Edwin Denby in 1981.
