About
The Berlin-Hohenschönhausen Memorial invites guests to the presentation of the book "Verschleppt, verbannt, verschwunden. Deutsche Kriegsjugend in Stalins Lagern und Gefängnissen". The authors Grit and Niklas Poppe tell of the fates of young people and young adults who, after the Nazi era in the Soviet occupation zone and the early GDR, were arrested or abducted by the Soviet secret police. These are stories of suffering and imprisonment of those affected, who often had to spend years in one of the Soviet special camps or in the Gulag, and some of whom died there. The conversation is moderated by Dr. Helge Heidemeyer, director of the Berlin-Hohenschönhausen Memorial Foundation.
