About

Poems for Helicopter Blades is an exhibition of new work by Fiona Banner aka The Vanity Press at Galerie Barbara Thumm in Berlin. It comes from the British artist Fiona Banner, born 1966 in Merseyside and living and working in London, who is a founding member of the gallery. Language, conflict and gender are explored through a range of media, with new video and sound sculptures constructed around parts of fighter aircraft. The show includes the film La Fin / Runway, the publications Pas de Deux (Tip Toe) and Mortal Coil, and sculptures recast from recycled aircraft aluminium.
