The documentary »Schönheit & Vergänglichkeit« portrays photographer and bouncer Sven Marquardt and two friends from East Berlin's punk era, Dominique »Dome« Hollenstein and Robert Paris. Director Annekatrin Hendel tells of their shared youth in the East, of photography, night and excess, and of how the three stayed true to themselves through the city's transformation and growing older. The film is also a declaration of love to a constantly changing city and deals with the longing for individuality, friendship and love.
