About

A Solo Show by Oliver Cook is an exhibition of sculptural and functional works carved in stone, presented at Flow Gallery. British artist Oliver Cook works in alabaster, using traditional carving techniques learned through his earlier woodwork, after a visit to Kettle's Yard in 2019 sparked his interest in stone. The new body of work for the gallery consists of white translucent alabaster and dark Kilkenny limestone, a monochrome collection focusing on form, tactility and light. Its pieces sit between vases, baskets and sculptures, some made as pairs intended to be each other's negative image, and explore the translucency of alabaster.
