About

Jim Amaral: A Study of Five Decades is an exhibition at LAMB's Mayfair gallery presenting works on paper by Jim Amaral from the 1960s to the 2010s. Amaral, born in California in 1933 and based in Bogotá since 1957, is an artist whose fantastical drawings explore the subconscious, the body, and desire. The show includes love-letter drawings, dedication works, surreal watercolours, black-and-white drawings born of his engagement with Jungian psychoanalysis, and later colour works. It centres on his continuing exploration of the body, the subconscious, and human connection.
