The evening shows Malte Ludin's documentary "2 oder 3 Dinge, die ich von ihm weiß", framed by a short introduction and a concluding discussion with historian Sophia Schmitz and social scientist Dirk Reinink. In the film, the director approaches his own father, the Nazi diplomat Hanns Ludin, whom Hitler sent to Slovakia in 1941 as envoy to enforce Berlin's interests, above all the "Final Solution". Sixty years after the end of the war, the director and his siblings speak openly about repression, loyalty and shame within their family, while relatives embellish, deny or suppress the truth about the father. The film is a rare and unsparing document of how the Nazi past continues to affect later generations and how differently one family can deal with the same history.
